Life coaching & the field of NLP are both abstract subjects. When introducing youself & your craft in either of these 2 fields, your prospective client, if they are not already aware of your field, is not going to understand anything from the name of this field & will ask you what these fields are about.
This is where most life coachs & NLP trainers make their biggest mistake. In order to explain an abstract subject, they would do either one of these 2 things
1) give a complicated definition for the subject
OR
2) use other abstract concepts/terms to explain this abstract subject
Result being - that person still hasn't understood anything. At best they will wish you the best in your endeavours & at worst, they will make up their mind that you are making up bullshit.
This ensures that you are erasing your business even before you begin wiriting it because the biggest target segment for your offering is the population who knows nothing about your field. If you can handle your introduction well, then you can be the first person to get business from them & then retain your client base with some good work.
In order for you to explain what your subject is all about, you have to ensure the following:
a) Make it tangible for them
b) Make it tangible in a context which is relevant to them.
